THE STORY

I spent years struggling to finish—or even start—the tasks on my list. Others moved through their days with seemingly endless energy, while I blamed myself for not trying hard enough.

Everything shifted when I was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) [yay for comorbidities]. I began to reflect on how my body processed physical, mental, and emotional tasks so I could create days that responded to my energy instead of draining it.

The turning point was realizing the hidden energy costs in everyday tasks. Even making a doctor’s appointment could wipe me out—not because I was “weak” but because emotional labor uses real energy. This helped me understand what different tasks required and taught me to treat myself with more compassion.

Weaving these insights into how I plan, rest and move through my days has transformed my life. I hope this approach offers others the same clarity, kindness, and relief it brought me.
